Our 1300 numbers are ideal for Australian businesses that operate locally, statewide or nationally and have a desire to improve their marketing response and professional image.
These are "virtual" numbers, in that they aren't tied to any specific phone in the same way that landline and mobile numbers are. Instead, 1300 numbers use sophisticated call routing to direct incoming calls to one (or more) answer points, which can include landlines, VoIP phones, mobiles, fax machines, and live call answering services.
You can select multiple answer points for a single 1300 number (or 13 number). For example, you can ring a different number outside normal business hours, or have your calls go through to live answering when your line is busy or not being answered.
1300 numbers invite potential customers to call you for the cost of a local call:
- Maximise your response from potential customers by including a Local Call 1300 number in your marketing material.
- No need to change your number even if you move offices: your business 1300 number can always stay the same.
- No need for extra phone lines to have an 1300 number.
A 1300 number is particularly attractive to businesses that receive the majority of their calls from local landline callers and that want to take advantage of the FREE talk time for those calls.
- Your caller: only pays a normal local call fee from any fixed line phone anywhere in Australia. If the caller is using a mobile phone, they will pay a rate that is determined by their mobile service provider.
- The 1300 number account holder:gets the first minutes FREE for calls originating from a local fixed line phone and terminating on your fixed landline. After the FREE talk time minutes, our low call rates apply. Free minutes vary depending on plans, with our most popular 1300 number plan providing 30 free minutes.
Not only do these numbers encourage customers to call, they also come with powerful built-in reporting that provides you details about who is calling, where they're calling from, when they're calling, and how long they're talking on the phone. Use this information to measure the success of your different marketing campaigns to help you spend your marketing budget more wisely. You can even use multiple 1300 numbers and 1800 numbers to compare the response to concurrently running marketing programs.
13 numbers
13 numbers work in the same way as 1300 numbers, allowing customers from all over the country to call your business for the cost of a local call. There are two main differences:
- Length: A 13 number is only 6 digits in length (13 13 13) compared with a 10-digit 1300 number (1300 255 835).
- Price: On top of your monthly rental and call charges, the government adds an additional $8110 per anum (or $850 per month) surcharge.
So the benefits of the shorter 13 number come at a cost that many small to medium businesses may not be able to justify.
